w. 41

Thursday, 8 October

Ek2 guys worked with the material post for Thursday w. 40, while Ek2 girls worked with the history part of their Swedish assignment.

Sa2 worked with Enlightenment. This material is covered in chapter 22 of your book. I encourage you to use your book and the Section Questions answers to review the key ideas regarding how the ideas of the Enlightenment helped develop new ideas about political systems and human rights.

You will be "tested" on this material in the sense that you will want to show that you understand and can use the ideas of Enlightenment in your paper. You don't currently know what you are going to be writing about. But once you do start working on it, it will be necessary for you to demonstrate that you understand ideas and developments connected to the Enlightenment and how political systems and views on human rights in the 19th and 20th centuries can be connected to these ideas emanating from the 17th and 18th centuries.

So read and ask questions so that you understand
- the main ideas
- the terms used in discusssing the ideas
- and some of the key people connected to this intellectual development.

Monday, 5 October - Resource Day, no class
